Design Prices

New website prices include:

Graphic title, one picture placed on the home page if required

As much text and as many links as you need,

Loading to your web address,

As much guidance as you need in using the Admin screens for updating any database,

Optimising for search engines,

Basic (free) submission to Google, Yahoo, and others.

Prices are based on:

All your information and material being supplied to us electronically – by email or disk, and supplied once only.

Additions and Updates:

Additional web pages $30 + GST.

Changes to inside pages $30 + GST each.

Changes to Home page $50 + GST.

Programming changes $100 + GST.

Placing graphics, photos @ $5 + GST.

(But we don't charge for little things like a new phone number).

DIY Updates: If a client wishes to save money by doing changing their own html or other code, we encourage them to study HTML, ASP, PHP, Javascript, or whatever is needed. If a client's own modification to their website does not work, or worse still puts their website off-line (real case June 2004) then we will restore their website, charging an amount commensurate with the time it takes us to correct the client's mistakes.

Hosting requirements:

Where shopping carts, databases, or interactive forms are quoted, these are quoted to be run on a host providing the necessary CGI, PHP, ASP etc. resources. Such are not normally provided in an ISP's free web space, nor by some of the cheaper hosts. e.g. Some hosts may provide PHP but not with the functionality of recent versions.

Scanning / OCR / conversion:

Your catalogues, pictures, logos, or other hard copy can be scanned and converted to text and graphics. We charge a little extra for scanning, depending on quantity. We accept material in any format on disk or email to save scanning and OCR charge. If you send graphics, music or video in a format that does not run on the internet, we may charge for converting it.

Consultations:

Phone / email consultations are free. Most of our clients inside and outside Australia find email is good. We have not found it necessary to attend corporate meetings, but if our attendance is absolutely necessary our costs are high.

Encryption key:

If you crash or change your computer without any backup of your credit card decryption key, or if you forget your pass phrase, or if for any reason we need to install it again, a fee of $55 incl GST.to cover our time and that of our host is payable.

Special effects:

We'll quote to your specification for special effects, interactive pages, music, video, Flash animations, chat rooms, forums, message boards.

Domain name and Hosting:

We can register your Domain name (www.yourname.com.au) and arrange hosting.
Most ISP's provide FREE web space if you can accept a web address of say: www.ozemail.com.au/~yourname.

Proofreading:

While we may correct any obvious errors in text sent to us for a website, the responsibility for proofreading remains with the person sending the text. However, if required, we can arrange for text to be proofread at a small cost.

Copyright:

Where material is supplied to us for publishing on the web, whilst we take every care, obtaining permission to use any copyright material is the responsibility and cost of the website owner. (more detail)

GST:

Applies to Australian residents only. Tax invoices will be issued.

International:

Above prices are in Australian Dollars. Email us for prices in Euros, $US, $NZ or Pounds.

Return of material:

For return of your CD's, disks, photos, catalogues, etc., please send with postage paid self addressed envelope, otherwise these will not be returned.

Quotation terms:

Prices quoted are firm for 14 days from date of email quotation. Acceptance is under the law applying in New South Wales, Australia

Orders:

Official Order forms from government departments, or orders accompanied by deposit of minimum of $100 from companies or individuals.

Links:

Platypus Websites links to its clients' websites and requires a small link back to www.platywebs.com.au. Our link to you gets you listed by Google etc. very quickly.

Search Engines:

Whilst we offer free optimisation for and submission to main search engines and directories, and clients who have taken our advice have achieved high rankings on search engines — Platypus Websites offer no guarantee of the time between submission and acceptance, or even acceptance at all by any search engine.

Strategies:

Where our quoted price accepted by a client includes strategic advice, such price is payable in full whether or not the client follows such advice.

Guarantees and Warranties:

We do not guarantee any results from your internet projects, but we will do our very best to help you achieve your objectives on the internet with the material and information you supply. We have an excellent record in getting our clients to the top rankings of search engines with practical easy to use websites. If we make any typographical or system errors we will correct these as soon as they are discovered at our cost. We accept no liability for any consequential loss. If a client edits a website and looses a web page or any information we will replace the original at no charge.

Payments:

Hosting and domain name registration costs are payable in advance.

Design work is payable:

Deposit $100 with order.

Balance invoiced on completion and payable 7 days from invoice.

If information for a website is supplied to us in instalments, work may be invoiced weekly and payable 7 days from invoice. All prices above are based on these terms. However, where companies require monthly accounts or extended terms we will quote prices to suit.

If any payment is not received in accordance with above terms, Platypus Websites reserves the right to withhold, withdraw or remove files or programs from a project until payment received.

Deposits are non-refundable but are on account of work performed or to be performed.

Collection fee:

If Platypus Websites is requested to make a payment (e.g. domain name registration, SSL charge) before receiving reimbursement from a client, then an admin fee, being the greater of $5.00 or 5% of the payment, is payable by the client to Platypus Websites.

Hosting costs from $26/year ($52/year for WordPress CMS) including GST.

Domain names are $34 per 2 years for .com.au and $17 per 1 year for .com names.
