We recently discovered that our website has gained a more detailed listing in Google — a listing like the large corporations! Instead of the normal 4 lines, it gives us a 9 line listing including links to some inside pages. We don't even know how Google chooses the inside pages.
The larger detailed listing only shows for our website if we search for "platypus websites" or "platywebs".
Research reveals that some of our clients (but not all) also have this larger listing. So far these factors seem to be what our websites have in common.
- started more than three years ago.
- large number of web pages
- large number of incoming links
- high traffic
There may be other criteria but Google only knows.
The defining factor is certainly the date the website started, as many clients who started more recently have larger websites (one with 17,000 products), but do not have the detailed listing in Google.
Many of our clients who started more than 3 years ago don't have a detailed listing but have smaller websites.
There are no guarantees, but it seems that to qualify for the detailed Google listing — its age and size before beauty!
