OUR FIRST website was winning awards January 1997, back in the days when the only browser that worked well was Netscape 2 (yes version TWO) and Microsoft was still finding out what people wanted.
Then we built our first commercial website in 1999. It was large and for a State Government funded Catchment Management Committee. We are still updating websites built in 1999.
Building a website which would work in Netcsape 2 was quite a challenge, but as version 2 was superceded by several more versions for Netscape and Microsoft, then Firefox, Opera, Safari, Bing and all, life became even more challenging as we had to build websites which would take advantage of the latest technology but still work on older browsers. Thankfully, nobody uses Netscape 2 any more.
Most of our recent clients are small businesses whose aims are:
- be found quickly on the internet,
- display their products and services in a customer-friendly way,
- take on-line orders easily,
- have an attractive website that people will remember,
- not spend a fortune getting there.
We have become very successful in achieving all of those aims for our clients, and many are now making their fortune.
How do we keep our costs down? We don't rent an office in a city tower, or spend time at corporate meetings, or travelling. We work from our own office one and a half hours from the metropolis.
Our qualifications and background are in commerce and information technology (although we have also sold our own original artwork in our spare time).
Every so often when we are overworked we say we must put our prices up, but are too busy to do that just now. Our web design prices have got cheaper with the advent of wordpress. Our hosting and domain name registration prices have come down over the years as we shopped around.
