Why do registrars and hosting companies like to sell through resellers? Simply because it's easier for them to collect money through resellers. That's why we can do cheap hosting.

If clients change their email address, the yearly or two-yearly invoice from the registrar may not reach the client who may then lose the domain name through not renewing it on time.

Resellers are always closer to the clients. Registrars and hosting companies may have tens of thousands of accounts and so cannot provide the same personal service.

Free Hosting for Web Designers

We can give FREE HOSTING to web designers / developers if they host a number of clients with Platypus Hosting.

Web designers are invited to apply to us for a free hosting account for their own website if they have:

  • 8 clients with $26/year plans, or
  • 4 clients with $52/year plans, or
  • 2 clients with a $99/year plans, or
  • Any combination of plans that total $200/year

This does not apply to web masters who have a number of their own related websites but who don't design for outside clients. The free hosting account is for a web designer's own website promoting their web designing business.

The free hosting account is similar to our advertised 250 Mb space and 5000 Mb bandwidth plan.

We are flexible about who is invoiced for renewals. Our invoice can be direct to the client or to the web designer.

We will only suspend a client's website for non-payment after consultation with the web designer.

Hosting is on dedicated servers in Brisbane, Queensland.
