cheap domain names

We discount Linux and Windows hosting in Australia and we discount domain names.

Why do registrars and hosting companies like to sell through resellers? Simply because it's easier for them to collect money through resellers. That's why we can do cheap hosting.

If clients change their email address, the yearly or two-yearly invoice from the registrar may not reach the client who may then lose the domain name through not renewing it on time.

Resellers are always closer to the clients. Registrars and hosting companies may have tens of thousands of accounts and so cannot provide the same personal service.

DIY Websites

DO IT YOURSELF WEBSITES

There are many ways to build a website without any knowledge of HTML or CSS.

We give a caution about using site builders without regard to search engine optimisation. But with care you can comply with most SEO requirements.

And these website builders are FREE! See an example of three websites we built with WordPress at www.webdesigndiy.com.au and www.webdesign4u.com.au. www.platywebs.info.

These one we built for a client using WordPress: Apex Training Solutions — with a full content management system. WordPress has SEO features so that URLs for pages are Search Engine friendly instead of e.g. index.php?Page=12345 that some systems have.

In our "Basic" Linux web hosting plan and above, there is a big choice of site builders, content management systems, galleries and blog software available to build your website for you. See FREE hosting extras.

A favourite is WordPress, listed under Blogs. The blog posts and comments can be disabled and many web pages in categories and sub categories can be added. Example of a WordPress website where blog and comments are disabled is at www.webdesigndiy.com.au

Each of the following site builder software systems has its own website with demos plus a large supporting community with forums. There are hundreds of "themes" with various features available.

You just go into your control panel and click Softaculous (under Software Services) — then select any one of the above. Each one will take one of your available MySQL databases, so before you install too many, check how many databases are available in your hosting plan and maybe delete any installations you don't need.

With WordPress you can change your "theme" and try out new ones without losing any of your web pages.

There is a facility in PHPAdmin to backup and download your databases.
