Email strategies

YOUR CUSTOMERS and prospective customers will know you are seriously in business when they receive emails from you with:

1. the From column containing your business name,
2. the Subject column containing a subject, and
3. the email ending with
   • your name
   • your business name,
   • your website URL
   • phone number, address, and a little hype.

Leave out any of those and your email, and therefore your business, could look amateur.

WE RECEIVE an average 200 emails per day, so we have strategies for dealing with them.

Naturally we need to open emails from people we don't know – they may be new customers.

But we usually automatically ignore emails:

• With no Subject
• With no sender's name (eg: from [email protected])
• Sent 3 times

We don't open emails on the following subjects

• Bank passwords from us
• Body part enlargers
• Dating services
• Doing someone elses homework
• Getting millions from Nigeria
• Lotteries
• Pharmaceuticals
• Porn
• Refinancing
• Rolex watches
• Surveys
• Testing
