The layout of the web page is important as it can catch the attention of visitors or not.

There are over 3,000 free WordPress themes (templates) each with options to customize. Some themes e.g. Weaver II contain sub-themes but also the ability to change layout, fonts, colours, header, sidebars.

If you try such a theme you may save spending 3,000 hours searching through 3,000 themes.

The layout options give you a choice of single column, single column with left side bar or right side bar or both left and right. The single column can be changed to a double column.

Navigation menu can be above the header image or below, or down the left or right side.

Widgets (blocks of information common to several pages) can be on sidebars, or above or below the page content.

The web page layout can include a slide show or images.
