Websites load faster from caches.
A cache is a system for the temporary storage of website files, such as HTML pages and images, to reduce bandwidth usage, server load, and perceived lag. A web cache system stores copies of documents passing through it; subsequent requests may be satisfied from the cache if certain conditions are met.
MemcacheD
Our Brisbane Linux server has MemcacheD installed. To take advantage of this, websites need linking code. WordPress has special plugins for that. It is recommended for ecommerce websites which cause a lot of disk activity.
WordPress plugin caches
There are other WordPress plugins available to cache static files. It is recommended that one of these be used as even static files require access to the website’s database alond with style sheets, javascript, images.
CloudFlare
This can speed up any website and reduce bandwidth. To use this, join Cloudflare.com and take a free system. Cloudflare will scan for your DNS records and then provide nameservers for you to change your domain name to. The website stays on our servers but visitors see a cache of it. This reduces your bandwidth use and can save you hosting charges. This website uses CloudFlare.
